This is not an exhaustive list - just a basic guide of things we can all pray about. It will be updated from time to time.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

A guide for each day of the month. Please pray for:
1. All those who live in the Halfway Bush area.
2. Schools and pre-schools in the area, staff and children. For Amana Christian school and the work of ChatBus.
3. Carers who look after the sick and elderly in the community.
4. For our city, and leaders in local community and government.
5. Countries suffering from war, famine, natural disasters. For mission and aid work to be effective in responding to needs.
6. For the upholding of Biblical and family values in society. For the work of the Bible Society and the Gideons.
7. All those who live in the Wakari area.
8. The ministry and growth of other Christian churches in the Hill suburbs – Kaikorai, Highgate, Mornington,
9. The local health centre and health professionals.
10. For protection and safety on the roads in the area.
11. The ministry and outreach of Christian churches in the
12. Missionary workers and their families.
13. Worldwide church to be salt and light in the world.
14. All those who live in the Helensburgh area.

16. The work of police in the community and protection against crime.
17. For effective ways of tackling problems relating to poverty, HIV/AIDS and the environment throughout the world.

21. Businesses in the community - especially individuals you know - hairdresser, those working in the dairy, garage etc.
22. The work of the emergency services in the community.
23. The students in the city and those who seek to minister amongst them.

29. The media and its influence.
30/31. For a greater commitment to prayer and action by the church worldwide.
Take time to give praise and thanks to God for His love and faithfulness in our lives and for answers to prayer.
Pray that as individuals and as a church family we might love God and others more and give Jesus a good reputation in the homes, streets, schools and workplaces where God has placed us throughout
That God will guide and lead those who will be involved in the church services next Sunday as they prepare. For the preaching, worship leading, musicians, those leading prayer etc. For the prayer meetings, housegroups and other meetings to be held this week.
The continued growth and development of effective outreach into the community. That we will be alerted to needs and under God’s guidance reach out with love, with the gospel, with practical care. For Carolyn and her role as our community worker. For Benji and the team who continue to do the community survey. For the Christianity explored courses.
Pray that people will become Christians and committed disciples.
Ian and Jacqui, the parish council and sub-committees - that they would be led by God. For humility, wisdom, discernment, health, energy and enthusiasm as they serve. For wise stewardship and use of church finances and continued generous giving. For increasing evidence of the power of the Holy Spirit at work in our midst and especially for signs and wonders to accompany the increased opportunities to reach out with the gospel.
Youth/children’s work: Kids.com, K4, Youth group, Hill Top Kidz after school club, BB, Bible in schools, music and movement. For strength, guidance, wisdom and ideas for the leaders. For the raising up of more workers. For protection for the children and young people, that they will come to faith and be kept strong in their faith as they grow up.
The church services, that God would be honoured and all would feel welcome. That the church family would make Sunday worship a priority and seek to get involved in the mission of the church by discovering, using and developing their gifts, enabling us to function properly as a body. For an increasing thirst for God’s Word and for worship. For motivation to share the gospel.
For new people to be drawn into the fellowship of the church and become involved – especially ‘key ‘people in the community whose testimony will reach many others. (Like the woman at the well. – John 4 v 4-42)
Pray for the specific needs of individuals you know in the church family and in the community who you have particular contact with. The elderly, those who are hurting, lonely, grieving, ill. For those who have lost hope – for purpose and direction.
