Minister
Rev. Ian Pittendreigh
ph. 476-3939

My name is Ian Pittendreigh and I have the honour of being the minister of Flagstaff Union Parish Church. My wife Jacqui and I were called to come here in 2005. We had our welcoming service on 13th of October that year.
I'm a Scotsman, born and brought up in Stonehaven (possibly Scotland's most beautiful town, located on the east Coast some 20 Km South of Aberdeen). I'm an ordained minister of the Church of Scotland and came to New Zealand as a member of the Presbyterian Church.
My wife Jacqui is from Colne in Lancashire, England (a small former mill town with houses like you see at the start of Coronation Street!)
We were married in 2000 and served with a church in Edinburgh (the Dunedin of the North), before moving to the most westerly Parish on the British mainland, the remote and incredibly beautiful Ardnamurchan Peninsula.
Our desire has been to serve the Lord wherever he calls us and we count it a privilege to serve with the Church here.
We are so encouraged to be part of the Flagstaff Church Family and are very grateful for the wonderful friends we have made and are making. It's great to be part of a Church that is living and growing.
We are also glad to be part of the wider church family in Dunedin and beyond - we love having time with people from other churches and Christian groups - It helps us remember that we are part of something bigger that God is doing in this world.

My name is Carolyn Sims, This is my 2nd year employed by Flagstaff Union Parish as their community worker. My main tasks centre around identifying, nurturing and devoping outreach opportunities in the local community. This has seen me doing things such as organising our monthly skills meetings, gardening at Wakari Hospital, road patrolling for Halfway Bush school and nitbusting at Wakari School (to name just a few).

My job is also about building relationships with community organisations and individuals in our community. I am passionate about our community and working together to create more of that sense of 'community' and how our church can help do this. I also run a number of community programmes and the childrens programmes so please check out the Community and childrens pages under "Groups".
